Thomas I. Palley es director del proyecto de reforma de la globalización del Open Society Institute.
Anteriormente fue Subdirector de Política Pública de la AFL-CIO. Ha escrito para Atlantic Monthly, American Prospect y Nation, y es autor de Plenty of Nothing: The Downsizing of the American Dream and the Case for Structural Keynesianism (2000); "Destabilizing Speculation and the Case for an International Currency Transactions Tax" (Challenge, 2001); y "The Economic Case for Labor Standards: A Layman's Guide" (Richmond Journal of Global Law & Business, 2001). Es Doctor en Economía por la Universidad de Yale.
